Just heard and seen Big Bill. Love those country blues! Say, you can hear his feet keepin' time with the music, and it sounds like the earth is shaking. the chords look simple: A, E, B, G, if I ain't mistaken. All I need now to do is to burn everything onto a cd, and voila. Posterity. Thank you once again.

If you want to burn these videoes to cd or dvd, then i can convert them in vcd or vob format so you get better quality!

You've been so nice and I really don't want to take advantage of your generosity and kindness.

Big Bill passed away while the second big folk renaissance was just heating up. I can still remember being at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival where Brownie and Sonny were keeping some of his music alive. It was Brownie McGhee who first turned me on to some of Big Bill's music while we played together up in Harlem.

Blake, do you know the year the films were recorded ? I estimated Big Bill to be below or about 50 years old.

Oh my mistake, these videos were taken in the late 50`s!!
They were taped by a private fan who came and asked Bill at his home to come out and perform some songs, and he did!(Stefan Grossman`s words)

Stefan Grossman is an old acquaintance of mine. Two years ago, I was calling his home trying to obtain some of these very videos that you have posted. At that time, he referred me to some company in mid town Manhatten.

I just got back from the market where I purchased, among other things, some blank Cds so I can start burning.
