On June 4, M.C. Records recording artist Robert Lockwood Jr. will be perforing at Eric Clapton's Crossroad Guitar Festival in Dallas Texas. The 89 year old stepson of blues legend Robert Johnson will bring his unique 12 string guitar style to the Sirius Stage at 8pm. This three day event features some of the most important guitarists alive today including J.J. Cale, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Larry Carlton, Pat Metheny, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Vaughan, Buddy Guy and B.B. King.

Last month Mountain Stage and Woodsongs Radio Hour broadcast a live performance by Robert Lockwood Jr. He will also be playing the Chicago Blues Festival in June.

On March 9, 2004 M.C. Records released 89 year old Robert Lockwood Jr.šs first domestic recording since 2000. The intimate performance was recorded in 2003 at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix Arizona and marks over six decades of releases from Robert Jr. The Legend Live (MC-0051) features Robert Lockwood Jr. performing solo on his famous twelve string electric guitar. Robert Jr. is the only living person to have learned guitar from the famed Robert Johnson. He was also a top session guitarist for Chess Records in the 1950's and influenced a generation of musicians with his appearances on King Biscuit Time in the 1940's with Sonny Boy Williamson II on KFFA . The Legend Live (MC-0051) could only come from a man of such pedigree. Some songs on the CD have never before been recorded by Robert or have never been recorded solo. Robert Lockwood Jr. is a twice-Grammy nominated artist (most recently in 2000) and a W.C. Handy winner. You can check out the cover and soundclips at our website, www.mc-records.com. We also have a downloadable photo of Robert Lockwood Jr. on our site.
