Any serious jazz guitar collection should also have some Tiny Grimes (maybe not the whole five volume complete 78s on Blue Moon; the Black & Blue LP/CD Some Groovy Fours with Lloyd Glenn is also especially nice); Floyd Smith (most of his recordings were sideman to organists like Wild Bill Davis; his own Black & Blue LP/CD or Davis' At Birdland (Epic, on CD) are good examples); Billy Butler (either the vintage Bill Doggett stuff or his CDs on Black & Blue or Fantasy-- the Fantasys each have 2 of his Prestige LPs--, and Bill Jennings (Stompin' With Bill on Collectables or his Legends Of Acid Jazz CD on Fantasy which is his 2 Prestige albums; someday some label will wise up and put his King material on a CD). Etc. etc.-- Oscar Moore's own LPs or his many recordings with the King Cole Trio...
