Well - this is a pretty good weekend in the Pacific NW....

FESTIVAL Season starts with the SUNBANKS RHYTHM & BLUES FESTIVAL (Sunbanks Resort - Eastern WA)... Mostly good local bands (Nick Vigarino - Mark Riley Trio w/Paul Green - Junkyard Jane's Rockin' Revue w/Nicole Fournier - Terry Hanck Band) - MAURICE JOHN VAUGHN closes on Sunday...

FRIDAY NIGHT - The TRIPLE DOOR has LLOYD JONES (with Terry Hanck opening)

SATURDAY NIGHT - JAZZBONES (Tacoma, WA) has TOO SLIM & the TAILDRAGGERS
SUNDAY NIGHT - JAZZBONES has ROY ROGERS & NORTON BUFFALO
Monday Night & Wednesday Night - JAZZBONES has TAB BENOIT

JAZZ ALLEY (Seattle) May 13-May 16 - LARRY CARLTON & SAFFIRE BLUE

Terry Hanck is a favorite of mine. I think he's better than 90% of the blues acts touring right now, it's a crime that he's not better known.

I didn't make SUNBANKS this time (there are actually two festivals - May & September)...

Terry Hanck was the 'next to last act' on SUNDAY....Maurice John Vaughn closed....

Hey, Bluesboss, we missed you at Sunbanks. Seeing Nicole play with Junkyard Jane was a lot of fun. Speaking of Jazzbones, The Blues Cousins, Russia's hottest blues band will be there on August 28th. Their first appearance on the 2004 "From Russia With Blues" tour will be at the Kettle River Blues Festival in Curlew on June
25th. (www.kettleriverblues.us) The NW festival season actually got underway the weekend prior to Sunbanks in Kennewick at The Untapped Blues Festival where they featured Long John Hunter and Roy Rogers & Norton Buffalo. Hey Bear (John) - welcome to TBBF... This is a fun place...drop back in when you have a chance...

We met last year @ About the Music when you were there with the Blues Cousins (through Jeff 'Budda' Hayes)..... I'll catch up to the Blues Cousins @ Mt. Baker (working the booth for WBS)...

I also caught Nicole the night before she left for Sunbanks @ the Oxford in Snohomish (I was delivering her new t-shirts to her....).... She's great live, she can stir up a crowd....

Bluesboss, we sat and talked with Jeff and Janelle for quite awhile at Sunbanks.
(He was drumming with Becki Sue and Her Big Rockin' Daddies) Sunbanks was
also the first event where our new blues society (Central Washington Blues Society) had a booth and we sold a few of those Nicole t-shirts. Nicole will be
drawing the winner of The Great Festival Getaway Raffle for me at The Kettle River
Blues Festival on 6/26. Talk to you soon,,,,,,,Bear
