I was surprised they left my attitude in there, but it is honest. I have griped about the lack of coverage for our blues scene for years. The nice thing is their music editor has now contacted me and I am going to try to help them get some good blues interviews going.

And now the best part! I just got my first assignment to write a blues feature for them. We'll see how that works out. I am going to talk to Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King about their new acoustic CD (which is due out Sept 18 on Delta Groove).

Sometimes being honest pays off. Any payment I get I'll donate to KNON.

Hey, Don O I guess you're beginning to get world wide recognition!

Saw your name in the Scandinavian blues magazine Jefferson. In an interview with Tutu Jones, he says that "a guy called Don O saw me play in a club called Schooners at home in North Dallas. He thought I had great talent as a guitarist as well. And he said: man, you should start recording records yourself. Have you ever been recorded?" In the interview he tells the story about how you got him hooked up with JSP.

That was nice of Tutu to mention me, but it was mostly his talent that got him that deal. Tutu was the first of several talented locals on JSP including including U.P. Wilson, Bob Kirkpatrick, Andrew "Jr. Boy" Jones, Jimmy Morello, Randy McAllister, Cookie McGee, and more. There's a lot more great talent here that deserves to be heard. I wish knew who to send them to.

Can you tell me what issue that is in? I would like to get Tutu a copy.
