BBFer Igor Prado, an amazing Brazilian guitar player with a great band, will release a CD & DVD set called Blues & Soul Sessions in June.
Among the participants are the likes of Curtis Salgado, Tia Carroll, J.J Jackson, Sax Gordon, Greg Wilson, Donny Nichilo, and Ari Borger.

I'm soooooo lookin' forward to this one !

Of course, Igor's next month European doesn't pass anywhere near where I live.

You can find a couple of Igor's other CDs at Bluebeat Music, as well as other people Cds he's on.
Some of his other releases can be found there too, either under his own name or as the Prado Blues Band.

I think it's primarily on the Brazilian label Chico Blues, but I'm pretty sure it'll find distribution outside of Brazil with American and European blues labels and distributors partnerships, like some of his previous CDs did. Igor's fame keeps growing, he has toured and recorded with major blues artists lately (Mud Morganfield, Mark Hummel, Lynwood Slim, Sean Carney, the list keeps growing), he's touring Western Europe this month - with the same touring company than Sean - and he has American guests on it, so I guess it will be easy to find, at least from Bluebeat Music or the British website www.rootscd.com as well as the German label and distributor Bear Family.
Who knows, maybe even Randy at Delta Groove, who released the CD with Lynwood Slim, might choose to distribute it !

Just checked Charlie's Bluebeat website, and he doesn't seem to have it yet, nor does RootsCD in UK. Bear Family in Germany announces it though, but they don't have it in stock yet. Patience, patience....

I just had a email exchange with Charlie at Bluebeat and he confirmed that what he has for sale is the CD only. I said he wasn't aware of a CD+DVD package.
I'm gonna try to contact Igor and find out.

So, there is a CD only version already available from Bluebeat Music, and a CD+DVD version should be released soon. I got me the CD only version and I'm thoroughly enjoying it right now ! /woohoo.gif

I'm now into track 9 out of 13, and all I've heard so far was soul. No blues. Mighty fine, classic soul music, that is.
