Anybody else ever make mixes for yourself or others? I first started with songs I liked from albums I'd borrow from the public library or friends, but didn't like everything on said albums. Then I thought it would be nice to make my own compilation cassettes, just to enjoy some favorite tracks from my own LPs and CDs collection. Later, after I got my first CD burner, I started to make party oriented CD-Rs whenever I was invited to one, and leave those CDs to the person who threw the party, as I already owned those tracks. I still do that every once in a while, but not as often as I used to. Actually only when I'm asked to, which isn't very often anymore. Also, I found out CD-Rs don't last very long, as opposed to factory pressed CDs, so I lost the interest. Rene Paris, France.

Deepest Blue Posts: 18977 Mar 22 12 10:38 PM	Kinda like an old-school i-pod! yes, I used to do that quite a bit, back in the cassette days. Now I have a graveyard of tapes that I can't play, LOL!!! Never put off til tomorrow what you can do the day after. Colorado, USA

Deepest Blue Posts: 6385 Mar 26 12 6:53 AM	I did it a lot with rock music, for friends and for me. I was a cross fading freak. I liked nothing much that to link tunes, trying to find the perfect one. I had some local reputation in doing it and putting together songs not obvious to marry. I even perfected in the late 60's a manual technique to obtain a cross fading effect on tapes that amazed my friends ! Then I did my mixes on CD-R with DJ equipment. Now, I let iTunes DJ doing the job for me but I do not keep the lists, letting the random thing work for me (but still pricking up my ears when the cross fading moment arrives !! ) Jean-Claude Lyon (France) Gallery Blues Attic My facebook page
