This morning I was reminiscing about movies that in my opinion have had a great impact on the world. The 1955 movie, "Blackboard Jungle" came to mind, not only for the awareness it raised about inner city school issues, but even more than "Rebel Without A Cause", it did a great deal to enhance the "Bad Boy is Cool" image. A strong by product of the movie in my opinion was the association of rock and roll music with the cool bad boy and how the music provided an escape from the reality of the inner city school problems.
It's interesting that this is one movie that had no female spoken dialogue.
