That's Lil Hardin (Armstrong) on the far right.

I saw her perform in a small club in Toronto in the 1960s. She could still flat out sing . . .

I know I will sound arrogant in saying this, but I would tend to think you're better off just listening to the records than getting a book like this. Academics tend to spoil everything.
