First became aware of the blues in 1971-my cousin had a double album and I too wanted a double LP-in my hometown didn't have much choice in record stores-Woolworth and a mom and pop TV store-the only choice I had was 'Hooker 'n' Heat' and to tell you the truth didn't really like it except for side 4, drifted away from the blues and preferred rock. About 10 years ago I got bored with rock, having played most styles and found it lacking. BEcam reintroduced to the blues by the Rolling Stones with what I consider their big 4 (Beggars, Let it Bleed, Sticky and Exile). Library has CDs for loan and before ya know it I was checking out blues CDs, some of which I enjoyed some I didn't---then i picked up who became my favortite Son House and deep love/admiration for acoustic blues, mothing against electric, but I feel more emotion in the songs that are acoustic vs electric. BTW I am 52 and live in Ohio. I doubt that for awhile, at least, I'll be able to contribute to the vast knowlege that ya'll have and my grandmother once told me that if I was listening in on the elders talks to be quiet I might learn something. I do want to say that based on what little I have read, there is a great patience with the lesser knowledgeable and that means that all of you are a great bunch to know. Thanxz for my long windedness.
