Hello,
Bill Jones here...Austin, Texas...longtime blues guitar player, originally
from Port Arthur, Texas....(.yes, Janis Joplin lived down the street from me. I didn't know her, but her brother delivered our newspaper.)....I started my blues career
playing in Port Arthur with harmonica ace, Paul Orta..moved to Austin in 1976 and started "The Kingpins"...a bluesband with Muddy, Walter, Jimmy Rogers, Rice Miller sound. We stayed true to the originals and opened shows for the Thunderbirds, James Cotton, played Antones, etc....eventually switched bands to "Kathy and the Kilowatts"
where I was the guitar player and married the lead singer, Kathy Murray.

We have been writing new blues songs for artist worldwide and locally.
I was fortunate to visit Antone's Club from the beginning to what it is now.
I saw Big Walter Horton with about 3 people in the audience...Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers, Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmy McCraklin, John Lee Hooker, Eddie Taylor, Otis Rush, Loweel Fulson....all the greats and many unkowns too :Hip Linkchain, etc. My main influence was Freddie King at the Armadillo World Headquarters.....hence I traded my Gibson black Les Paul for a red ES-335....best deal I ever did.
I have been outta the scene for many years , but coming back to the blues this year and this forum!
