Hi all, I am from Champaign, Illlinois and grew up in Chicago.

I have a friend who has told me about this site and I finally signed up.

I love blues and urban guitar driven blues in particular.

Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, Willie Kent and the Gents and Dion Payton to name a few.

Lately into Super Chikan, Dennis Jones, Wayne Baker Brooks and Kilborn Alley Blues Band .

I love the old blues and the soulful blues crooners like Bobby Blue Bland, Sam Myers and Otis Clay.

I am exploring the roots more after a trip to the Delta and getting a little Mississippi Mud on my shoes exploring Zion Church, Tutwiller, Red's and watching the Ground Zero webcasts.

We are starting a blues society here in Champaign and I am here for inspiration and sharing the Blues with like souls.

I think Bernard moved back to the States a few years ago, but I could be wrong.
He does tour Europe though, but I haven't seen him in a while.
I have a picture somewhere of him, some of his bandmates, his dad Luther and me. Must have been shot in 1996 or 1997.

I wish I had some pics of Luther. That guy ws a great performer. I saw Bernard 2 years ago. Some of his songs were eerily similar to his father.

Marquessa great chatting with you and the folks checking out GZ.

Do you mean with you, shot by you, or just plain Luther pictures ?

Yeah shot by me.
Ten years ago we had a grandaughter and I bought a digital camera. So for the last ten years I have gotten some amazing shots of many of my favorite performers.

Thati s a good idea. One of these days I will just check out photo's of Luther, Koko,Otish Rush, Willie Kent etc. I kind of do that on youtube getting lost checking out old performances.

Sometimes it is hard to see the forest for the trees eh.

I play mostly custom instruments, from my frankenstein tele to the handmade lap steels aka Sipsy River steels, Larrivee acoustics, Crate, and Mesa Boogie amps, Snake Oil Brand strings on my electrics, DR and Elixers on my acoustics.

Thanks again all. I have few of my Buddy and Kilborn Alley pics at myspace and photobucket. I will post a few and leave link to myspace soon.

Trying to decide what to do going forward should I get facebook. as soon as I open up an account Something later and greater will come around.

wny I love summer in Champaign. One reason is Kilborn plays with Dave, a sax player who comes to town to teach tennis.

We are having a Blues, Brews and BBQ fest next weekend so All is well.

Fun heckling with ya gd. For the record I think the kid is going to be pretty good.
