Is there more? There is a lot, but maybe not on CD. But Amede Ardoin is not Zydeco, his music predates Zydeco, maybe it is a predecessor to Zydeco. I don't know for sure what genre to put his music in. On compilations it is usually grouped with classic Cajun music, like the Falcon and Breau families. But you can hear boogie and blues in some of his playing and at least hints of them in most of it. And his singing, well, to me he was a great blues singer, even if not a blues specialist.
You are sure right his story is dipped in the tragic, at least the closing chapters. His fiddler was a Whiteman and it has been suggested that part of the reason he had a White fiddler was to lend a somewhat safer passage through his Louisian, Good Old U.S.A. Cajun music world. Although the Creole and Cajun societies were separate cultures from the American mainstream, it was, after all, still the United States of America, and still Louisiana. So it is said that the following happened to him: It is said His undoing began when some "fans" were offended because during a dance hall gig a White woman wiped his sweaty face with her handkerchief, so they dragged him nearly to death with a car or truck and even ran over him with it. It is said That event did irreparable damage to his body and his mind. It is said His singing and playing and even personality was never the same after that. It is said he died in that mental asylum.

Me, I saw a performance by some of his survivors and descendants, The Ardoin family, they played one year in the 1970s at the Mariposa Festvial in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They played pretty straight Cajun music without very much of the blues flavor that father/granfather had in his music in his time.

Any way, Amade Ardoin is one of my favorite (one of 9 zillion favorite) blues singers. It is too bad the recording quality of most of that pre-war Cajun music is so terrible. It must have been done with acoustic recording technology or maybe on poor quality disks.

If you like blues in your French music, you should find some Nathan Abshire recordings, he was a Cajun Whiteman, but he played and sang the blues very well, IMO. Like Ardoin, He was a accordion player too, He is the father of Ray Abshire.
Nathan Abshire's Pinegrove Blues (aka Ma Negress) has become a standard Zydeco tune. Done by Clifton Chenier, Queen Ida, et al.

Have you heard Cleoma Breau? She was a Cajun singer, not a blues specialist, but she recorded maybe half a dozen good blues songs. The way she could sing the blues, it is too bad she did not do more blues. The only trouble was the band was not a blues band and they did not get the blues timing and stuff right, but her singing makes up for it.
Still I don't know if any of this stuff is on up to date media like CDs.
