I am an avid Professional Baseball Fan........inspite of steriods, etc....

And....I will have to be AVID this year considering that my MARINERS will "stink to high heavan"....

But.........I'm buggin' out of work to race home and flop down on the couch and watch GAME 1 of the Season vs Minn.......

Hernandez vs Liriano ..... !!!

I'm watching every inning I can - I love the beginning of a new season every time it comes around. The Red Sox were rained out and should play two tomorrow against Tampa Bay. The Yankees' C.C. Sabathia was pulled after he was knocked around for six runs and the Orioles are on top 8-5... ESPN had last night's opener and there's been baseball on since earlier today. It's nice to see green grass knowing there are 162 games before us! Bewteen Augusta this week and a new baseball season, I'm fully primed!

Update... Hank Steinbrenner fires entire Yankees team after opening game loss.

I seldom watch baseball but I must say I have the itch. Rockies lost today; I don't think it's gonna be a banner year for sports in Denver

Never put off til tomorrow what you can do the day after.

I'm in Phoenix on business, and I was invited to attend the Diamondbacks-Rockies game. Pretty entertaining, a 9 to 8 AZ win.

But as a lifelong AL/Red Sox fan, I have to admit I was absolutely baffled by one thing: what is the deal with allowing the pitcher to hit? I thought that went out with the Corvair and the AMC Pacer.

I'm a big fan of the NL keeping baseball as it was meant to be played. I don't dislike the DH in the AL, but one thing that gets highly interesting and entertaining is watching a NL pitcher stand at the plate after he beaned an opponent earlier, either in a game or a season. Payback's a mess when you're facing 95 mph chin music!

I don't even know if that is legal to root for both the Sox and Twins!...I too enjoyed Joe when he was on the Southside,but he's a twinkie now and that's the way it go's...Go Sox!

Where the Red Sox got rained out of their opener yesterday, I might actually get to watch some of it today as it was rescheduled for a 4:05 start vs. a 2:05 start yesterday.

There's a lot wrong with baseball but it's still a great game. I just can's stand the insipid television coverage. Until World Series time, I won't be watching unless it's in person. Gawd, the coverage is sooooooo lame.

I got to see some of yesterday's game. The local cable outlet is providing a free week of the baseball package in order to entice people to purchasing it. It's always great to hear Vin Scully calling the game. No doubt the Dodgers have a pretty decent lineup with Manny there. The pitching however is going to be the BIG question mark this upcoming season even in the weakest division in baseball.

In Seattle the rest of the Season has been cancelled - Mariner's finish in a tie for first place in AL West with a 1-0 record....

Did my serious sofa surfin' last night....wearing out my remote...going from Twinkies vs Mariners.....Cubs vs Astros.....NC kickin' the crap out of the Spartans..

One day later the Mariners do what the Mariners do ----- implode!!!!

Taking a two run lead into the bottom of the 9th, supposedly "closer" Brandon Morrow gets the first two outs easily.............then walks the bases full......gets sent to the showers.........and Miguel Batista (stuck between a rock and a hard place) gives up a Metrodome infield single (it bounced about 80' straight up in the air)... then a single to center ....... Twinkies score two more ...

Mariners Lose 6-5.........
