This past Friday March 27th marked the 6 month anniversary of the collaboration of Michel Rochette & Richard Carr on 10,000 Blues Magazine. CKIA 88,3 FM is quickly becoming the place to tune in your radio every Friday night from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Blues market worries neither Michel or Richard, in fact the fan base for the show has exploded via the internet. Who said the Blues wasn't popular.
Both dj's pick's are very personal, soulful and raw. You'll run the gamut of all the Blues genre's and often hear bands you would not have a chance to hear otherwise. Both often seek out lesser known artists & bands. "If it's "suitable for airplay" to coin a term, it gets heard!" Quality acts and tracks play uninterrupted even if the song lasts 10 minutes. This is community radio after all.
Michel Rochette has supported the local Quebec City Blues community for 8 years with his Les 10,000 Blues. Michel uses a less talk more BLUES approach, his sets on average lasting 30 minutes. 4 Hours of Blues on a Friday night is such a joy to many who call in to say hi to both Richard & Michel.
