This may sound weird, but how do you practice guitar? I know my I-IV-V, I know my pentatonic/Blues scale, but I can't seem to get any farther than that. I need to take some one-on-one lessons, but can't afford it right now.
So, If I was sittin in the room with you, after you slapped me on the back of the head and said "Listen up boy!" what would you tell me?
I'm very anal, I kind of have to be shown what to do, then I have no problem doing it, just don't have the ability to figure out stuff without guidance. I see/hear folks like Robert Johnson, and some of the other old Blues guys, and they aren't playing straight I-IV-V, and most of it's fingerpicking. John Lee Hooker seemed to play just one chord, so I know there's different stuff. My health is kind of screwed up, so I can't get out to the local Blues jams yet and hook up, but hopefully soon. So, if ya got any advice for dis ole Blues guitarist wanna-be, LET ME HAVE IT! :}
Thanks all,
Dan'o :}
