The Utah Utes just got done giving Wyoming a good old fasioned whuppin'. That makes the Utes 9 and 0, I think, maybe 10 and 0. Number 6 in the BCS poll, not bad for a non-BCS team. I think all they have left is BYU. The Holy war. It's always the best game of the year around here. The Utes are like 20 and 2 under second year coach Urban Meyer. Life is good. Some will say that the Mountain West Confernce ain't tough enough for a true test, but Utah has beaten Texas A&M, Cal and Arizona this year. They are BCS-busters, without a doubt!

Great win for the Utes!! They will throw a wrench in the BCS - How about - with the UTES - having Auburn, USC and Oklahoma all without a loss? PLEASE Can we have a playoff? sheez....

Utah and Auburn are two teams that will throw a Monkey Wrench into the BCS before it's over with.

I hate the BCS system.
It's fueled by money,not common sense.

Ya-I don't think the BCS is the answer, but I don't know what is. There should be some kind of play-off, but how many teams and for how many weeks? I never really had a problem with the old way of the winner of a certain confrence plays the winner of another and gets to call themselves the 'Whatever Bowl' champs. There was usually a clear cut #1, and when there wasn't, it was fun to bitch about who got the nod. All I know is it's been like 60 years since the Utes have been #1 at the end of the season and it won't happen this year, but it's high time!

Division 2 & 3 manage playoffs, ao D-1 could. They won't however, due to $$$$$$$ just like Grady says.

Go Utes! Depending on how things work out, there is talk of the Feista Bowl or maybe even the Sugar Bowl. If not love, at least a little respect would be nice, but I don't think they will get that either. We are all very proud of their season (well, maybe not the zoobies-that's slang for BYU students) and wish them the best. They can play with anyone in the country, and with a month and a half to prepare, they will beat 'em.

And another thing-there is a lot of hype around here for Ute QB Alex Smith as a candidate for the Heisman. Any talk of that anywhere else? The guy only threw 4 int's all year, 2 of them tonight. He has ran in nearly as many TD's as he has thrown, runs the option as well as it's been done in many a year (taking his share of the hits and doing his share of the blocking while at it-one of those key tonight in springing the runner for that second-longest-in-Ute-history 92 yarder) while leading Utah to an average of 45 points per game. All this and still one more year left-though few believe he will stick around for it. He is certainly worth consideration, at least.

Ah-oh - Looks like my Pitt Panthers are in for a butt kicking... Might end up playing the Utes in the Fiesta Bowl... Sheez.. at 8-3 they aren't BSC bowl worthy losing to UCONN Nebraska and Syracuse.. and almost lost to Temple and Furman. This might leave Texas (10-1) out of the BCS...

PLEASE can we have a playoff?

Maybe not, Fret. The Utes might just be having a big let-down. It came out today that Notre Dame has fired their coach, and 2nd year Ute coach Urban Meyer has an opt-out clause in his contract to go to ND if offered. That will be very bad for Utah, but very good for ND. BYU has fired their coach today, and Weber State and Utah state's coaches are in the last year of their contracts. It could very well be that 4 of the 5 universities in Utah could be looking for new coachs. If it comes down to Pitt v Utah, we'll need to get a friendly wager going

I see that Meyer is heading to FLorida.. And we will hook up in the Fiesta Bowl on New Years night. The boys on ESPN have been just trashing PITT - so I hope they caom out and really play the Utes tough. THey have been getting better and gaining momentum as the year as gone by..

Should be fun!!

That's all easier said than done, though, with the announcement that Ute QB Alex Smith is a finalist for the Hiesmann. I can't remember all the other guys right now, but one of them, the RB from USC, was on the same high school team as Smith. Man, that must have been a hellava high school team. Somewhere in San Deigo, I think.

All in all, I can't wait for New Years day. Go Utah!!!

WOW! CAL got beat by Texas Tech last night and how about Navy!! Excellent to see that program coming back.

Will be watching the Miami / Florida game tonight... Also - I hope Pritch checks in from Utah - Utah vs Pitt tomorrow night!!

Louisville/Boise State & ASU/Purdue were both great fun to watch.
I'm looking forward to today's lineup. Georgia/Wisconsin & Michigan/Texas will get my full attention. I'm hoping to see my Pitt Panthers throw a monkey wrench into Utah's undefeated season.

Yes,it was !!

Iowa was too much for LSU.

and Pitt was no match for Utah.

at least Georgia won.

Looking forward to the Auburn/Va Tech matchup Monday night.

and of course,I'll be rooting for Auburn.

Gotta stick with my SEC teams.

Good games, all around. I was rootin' for Boise St., and Iowa/LSU and Texas/Michagan coming down to the last play-great football. And the Utes!!! 1st undefeated untied season for them since 1930 or so. Several Feista Bowl records fell last night-sacks and receptions by a reciever, I think there were a couple others. Now, if Auburn loses and USC and Ok. tie, Utah would have a claim to the championship.

Utah played a great game, but gets the national championship in one case only; if a tsunami hits Miami AND New Orleans Monday morning.
