Well, here we are and the main question is, does anybody have a shot at beating New England? Personally I don't think so, but the games have to be played and nothing is certain 'til the final gun. We have a home game here in Pittsburgh, but not much is expected. The stillers defense got rolled over, again, yesterday by Baltimore's third string running back. Big Ben will be back next week, but I don't see much changing from the last time the teams played.
How do you think things are gonna play out around the league?

Geez nighthawk you locked the other thread so fast, I couldn't even post a final comment in the regular season thread! Next year give a day or two please.

Happy the Browns went 10-6. Before the season started, not too many folks thought we'd do much better than 7-9. With Anderson faltering these last 2 weeks, I'm kinda glad we didn't advance to the playoffs. Brady Quinn got his wish in the last game, he was only 3/8 passing but the kid was amped up a bit. Rumors abound that Parcells has contacted Romeo to go to Miami ... with the contract up that's a little spooky. It looks like we finally have a team to build upon, I'd hate to see it busted up now.

PS: I think only Dallas has a decent shot at New England,

I hate the way some teams play hard on the final game....while others rest starters, etc............and, impact the outcome of the playoffs!!!!!

My SeaChickens laid a great big EGG @ Atlanta.........now let's see if they can rebound and hold off the 'Skins in Seattle ..... Don't like our chances with a few players banged up and Alexander running like some 3rd grader!!!!

Can anyone upset the Patriots??? Don't know, but I'd look out for the Jags to spoil someone's party in the AFC .... And, maybe the 'Skins causing a little trouble in the NFC....

Nah, a good team shouldn't depend upon someone else to lose...
... unless, of course, it's their opponent!

although it was a kick to see all the Browns fans at the Indy game

2 games we SHOULD have won -- Oakland and the second Pittsburgh game ...

I don't know about New England going undefeated now.
The odds are definitely against it but, who is going to beat them ??

Whoever goes to New England is going to have to beat the Patriots and the Referees.

I look for Pittsburgh to be "one & out". They're playing terrible right now. Their Defense can't stop anybody. Granny Clampett could run up the middle on them.

Well, I don't know about New England but my beloved Washington Redskins ahve played as well, if not better, then most of the teams in the NFC... Yup, 4 in a row and all rather convincing physical games... Especially the one against the New York Giants with the wind chill 'round zero and the wind blowing every which way... Players from both teams siad it was the most brutal conditions that they had ever played in but...

... the Redskins just outplayed and, ore importantly, out-muscled the Giants on both sides of the ball...

So I expect them to get my Seattle this weekend even though Seattle is 7-1 at home because the 'Skins are healthy, hungry and better coached...

Then I see the 'Skins rollin' into Dallas and doing a repeat on Dallas the following week and for the same reasons... The 'Skins held Dallas to 1 (yes, "one") yard rushing last week and they can do it again...

Then it's on to the NFC finals and there is where the rub comes into play... I think Tampa Bay will be there and the 'Skins match up well with T. Bay but have a history of beating themselves when they play T. Bay... Okay, the refs stole one a couple years back but this ain't gonna be easy...

AFC???

Everyone would have to pick New England to go all the way 'cept New England has been doing more and more hanging on to victories of late so they are ripe for picking and I don't see them makin' it to the S.B...

Yeah, theses are some bold predictions but that's the way I see it...

BB, I kept waiting for the stillers to peak and apparently missed it. As Grady says, Granny Clampett could run all over our D. The season ending injury to DE Aaron Smith was a big loss to the run defense, but it's much worse than just that. Coach Tomlin seems to have lost this team. They are missing tackles and cryin' like whiny little bitches. The team seemed to split after Anthony Smith's ill-fated guaranteed win vs New England and it's been downhill from there. The best part of last week's debacle was that I fell asleep at halftime.

I've been offered not one, but two sets of tickets for the game and turned both down(I can't EVER recall doing that). I'd just as soon sit home in the dark(for fear of having to see myself in a mirror), switching back and forth to Lawrence Welk. The only thing they got going for them is that it's a home game, but that didn't seem to matter when they played JAX in December. I have to go back to '83 to remember a stillers Division winning squad's late season collapse that was this bad. It's so bad, I don't even think that my official Blues Boss 12th man T-shirt lashed to a terrible towel can help. Other than that, it should be a fun time.

Seattle has to play the ultimate underdog team on a mission and I don't envy them that. That should be a somewhat more entertaining game than ours though. The way things are going in the NFC, the winner of that game could end up in the Super Bowl.

I watched some of Tenn vs Baltimore. The broadcasters kept mentioning that they could hear groans from Cleveland. I guess it wasn't Kokomo.

Granny Clampett was a pretty good runner, she could juke fox and she could jump. I think she leaped the cement pond one time.

I'll be rooting for our favorite BBF cities like Pittsburgh & Seattle (Jag's just intercepted & took the lead).

I believe the Pat's will go all the way but like Nighthawk says, "they gotta play da games".

I have to say that in the 23 or so years I've been supporting the 'Hawks, this is the first time I can remeber them sending more defensive than offensive players to the Pro-Bowl.

Jim Mora jr has made a lot of difference to the secondary, that's for sure.

Gotta hand it to Seattle... They played well... M0aybe over thier heads... Having watched the last 4 Redskins games I will say that the Redskins lost this game more than Seattle won it...

The game plan sucked for the 'Skins... More bad Joe Gibbs...

The Defense didn't bring but a half a dozen blitzes the entire game... This was not the defensive scheme that ther Skins used in winning theit last 4 games... It was a conservative defense...

This is why they lost...

The offense picked up on the lack of defense and gave up in the 4th quarter... In the pick for a touchdown, Santana Moss didn't even try to make a play on the defensive back... That tells you that the players ahd given up on the game plan, which, IMO...

...sucked...

Joe Gibbs can't go back into retirement fast enough for me...
