I checked in this morning at Mudcat Cafe, and John Hardly just posted a notice about this trailer that he'd seen on another site... maybe this one. I am REALLY excited about this. Any further information on when it's going to come out, or has come out?

I was disappointed with what I saw on the trailer. Just seemed to be a bunch of 60s folkies talking about and playing their version of what others had done better in the 20's and 30's.

I posted about this elsewhere. BBFer, founder of the Cascade Blues Association and the Rose City Blues Festival (Waterfront Blues Festival) Delmark Goldfarb is in this documentary. It is premiering at the SF Jug Band Festival next weekend, August 24-26. Delmark will be there for the premier.

Hmm, that's what the preview might make it seem like.

I doubt that's the case, though.

But then again, they don't have many more musicians who play that music that they could interview.

What I am really looking forward to with this documentary is that they filmed interviews with Fritz Richmond before he passed away. Having known Fritz here in Portland and seeing his various bands around town, I know that this man was a wealth of knowledge regarding the Folk scene and jug bands. I believe that Delmark is in the film performing with his old pal John Sebastian.

The opening of this film in San Francisco this weekend will include performances from the likes of John Sebastian, Geoff Mulduar and Jim Kweskin to name but a few. How I wish I was going to be there for this!!

Delmark asked me if I wanted to go with him, but I'm starting a new
job Monday. I hate it when work interferes with play.
