I picked fiddle. I love the sound of blues on a violin. I wish there was more of it. I wish I could play it!

Hmm, well they never really recorded pre-war, as old as their style is.

I voted "fiddle" I love the sound of a fiddle playing
Blues, besides my younger sister plays fiddle in B.C.

I wish that FishFeathers would use fiddle as well as Harp
when he's playing Blues, he's an excellent fiddle player.
What about it Sandy?

..that's very kind Billy...

..I have to say that I make a lot more money as a working musician playing fiddle for Scottish Ceilidh and Dance Bands than I do playing the Harp in Blues Bands..

...I'm going to give in to this and say yeah...I'll get the fiddle out on a couple of numbers in the Bourach Brothers this year...maybe not the Blues Bonanza but sometime soon...

I figured that drums and XYLOPHONE are far too obscure in country blues to be included.

Especially xylophone, I HAVE heard drums on more than a few Casey Bill Weldon songs.

well, I THOUGHT I voted for Mandolin, but I clicked on the wrong button!

duh

I know the harp bashers here would have given me flack for it... yet I see two votes for harp already!

Paul Richell and Annie Raines have a few wonderful numbers with Annie playing the Mandolin that are absolutely incredible! They will be doing a gig in my neighborhood soon and I can't wait! She blow some sweet harp too!

Not necessarily "pre-war," but Johnny Young laid down some great mandolin in his day, as well. Definitely made me a believer that just about any instrument can work in a blues song.
