HI! Trying not to make this sound like a group therpy session...My name is Stephanie and I too am a blues addict.

I found this board by accident, how crazy is that as I post on several music boards (not blues related) but this is the first blues forum I found which is really cool as I have been a blues addict since I was a child. Apparently I can't break the habit so I might as well enjoy it. With that in mind I think I'm going to start reading some of the postings.

I live on the South Western side of Michigan about a 15 minute drive from Lake Michigan in a little "don't blink you'll miss it" town.

I'm sure I will enjoy this board as I have been reading alot of posted topics here that I know I can indulge myself in.

I (mis) spent my formative years in Kalamazoo in the winter (Sept-May) and the rest in Saugatuck (Coral Gables was a kick-ass place to work as a teenager in the 70's)....the winters definitely gave me a desire to travel, one way at least

If you haven't been there yet, consider attending the Marquette Area Blues Fest over Labor Day. We had the pleasure of performing at it a couple years ago. Nice, small scale blues fest. Good variety of acts too.

Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome and to respond to a couple of replies...I live just around the corner to Saugatuck...I attend the yearly blues festival in Kalamazoo...I loved my weekend in Chitown (total blast) and I will tell my parents thanks for the great name. Although I make jokes about my folks wanting a boy as my dad's name is Stephen Joseph and mine is Stephanie Jo...I sure I was suppose to be a Jr and tripped my folks up when I popped out female....LOL...I have 4 brothers & 2 sisters...big family!

Howdy doody from a Michigander in exile (in da Cheese State). Let's see how many connections I can make to previous comments -- I grew up around Kalamazoo and enjoyed summer beach trips to places such as Holland, Saugatuck and South Haven. Lived in Marquette for quite a while and can concur on checking out the blues fest there (friends of mine have been involved as organizers and performers) and have roamed much of the U.P. (as well as the L.P.). Have also made regular trips to Chicago over the years, as a kid to see relatives, as an adult for the things big cities can offer, such as food, art, and entertainment.

So welcome, Stephanie, and dig in.
