I hope that Memphis doesn't have to play UCLA in a California bracket again this year.
They were probably better last year, but I think they will get to the final four this year. The odds are they will lose again, but last I heard they haven't in a long while. I guess I should read the sports.

I hope that everyones enjoys the tournaments.

I'd like to see theTigers and the blue crew with the trophy partying down Beale Street.

Went through the high school version of this tonight. Our girls were leading by seven in the fourth quarter and let it get away for a two point loss. They were 3 of 10 from the line in the second half and that proved to be their undoing. They're going home with the blues and so am I as I'll be faced with a 200 plus mile drive under uncertain conditions.

Everybody looks good at the starting line. Get on your mark,get ready but you better keep this in mind. You can hit the ground running like you're shot from a gun but going the distance is the hard part son. Everybody looks good at the starting line.

I think that this year's NCAA tourney will be pretty wide open and I'm looking forward to it with much anticipation. It used to be that you could get a feel for who would do what by early to mid Feb., but now teams don't seem to reveal themselves 'til conference tourney time has ended. Fla and George Mason were the poster children for that last year, I'm interested in who'll be those teams this time out. I like that there's enough talent out there to produce yearly wonder teams. I still have long time favorites, but it's great to see a 'new' team reveal itself in the tournament crucible, for better or worse. Watching the tourney unfold over three weeks is one of the best things about sport and I'm glad that it's that time of year once again.

My sons will be in Madison Square Garden for PITT/G-Town in Big East Championship Game. With Syr, Uconn and 'nova out early it was pretty easy for them to get tix at almost face value. Last night's comeback vs Louisville was a big win for the Panthers and tonight should be a classic Big East matchup.

PITT went down to G_Town with a thud. Oh well, on to the next dance.
I have no clue who my favorites are in the NCAA. Kansas looks good right now, but they usually need the heimlich maneuver early on. UNC may be ready for a run, I guess that the Hoyas are my personal favorite, but anything can happen. We'll see.

I heard some of the experts say watch out for Southern Illinois. For my money I say watch out for Wisconsin and Oregon.

Oregon is on a tear! They completely dismantled all three teams they played against in the Pac 10 tourney. Playing their best ball of the year, and at the right time, too!

Kansas isn't out of the woods 'til they make it through the first round. Aside from getting booted out right off the bat last year, they have a well earned rep for stumbling along in their first game win or lose.

Fla/OSU would be a good matchup. Normally I have a standing wish that the earth would rise up and swallow the entire OSU campus whole. That's a football thing though. Over the years there have been a couple Bucks b-ball squads that I could stomach. I like Oden and wouldn't begrudge him and his teamates a championship, but probably won't root for them either.
I'd think that Fla would be the favorite this time out, but not so much as when OSU choked in January.

This weekend will be Cinderella's chance to dance. Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas have there slippers on. Each can boogie with the best when they get to feeling it.

Of course Univ. of Memphis lost 3 players to the NBA last year, but they have the longest winning streak in the country. I bet they also have won by more points than any one this year also. It has not been very exciting very often. Losses to TN, TX, and I can't remember, (30-3).

It will take them getting to the elite eight again for them to be taken seriously, except by the coaches' poll, (#5), who know Calipari. UCLA beat them in California last elite 8. I see that UCLA is to play this year, where?.........in Sacramento.

Memphis will be in New Orleans, which is nice, since they've been here since Katrina. I'm looking past the first two games anyway. A match with an old rival, Louisville is brewing in the brackets. A final with UCLA is too much to dream for.

Memphis Grizzlies have a good chance for a #1 pick, so that makes the tournament more interesting. Who would you pick????????

I haven't seen Pitt or Oregon, but it seems they got game.

March is a good time of year.

G-town is my personal choice to win it all. There are about a half dozen other schools that can get it done though.
My favorite teams PITT/Duke might play in second round for the right to play UCLA. I wanna see the last two Panther coaches go at it.

I was at PITT yesterday to get tix for my daughter and I for the Women's tourney first 2 rounds this weekend.
Tenn, UNC, Notre Dame and Cal will be here. I dig going to the practice sessions the day before.

Duke losing to VCU was the least surprising upset in quite some time.
No real surprises for me the first day, lets see what today brings.

Oregon just squeeked by a late rush from Miami (Ohio) yesterday, but should still do fine in the next round.
