My favorite kind of fishing leading to a fish fry....(The way we do it in Mississippi)

Trot Lining....(Directions below)

1) locate a river....(Pearl River in Mississippi for me)
2) String a line across the river with hooks space on the line about every 3 feet baited with shad. About every 20 to 30 feet place a heavy weight on string to sink it to the bottom..
3) Tie one end of string to a tree to one side of river. Get in small boat and bait string and drop it to the bottom of the river. Upon reaching the other side of the river, tie the other end of the string to a tree on the other side...

(Now here's the cool part)

4) You get in the boat every couple of hours and pull up the line, re-baiting and throwing catfish, in the boat, as you catch them...
5) This is done AT NIGHT..Yep at night, with a small lantern..Watch out for those Water Mocassins. that might try to fall in the boat when you pull under the trees.
6) Fish all night, while drinking ample quantities of beer, and listening to blues and old Country music.
7) Place caught catfish in a chicken wire basket, that is staked to the river bank, to keep the fish alive.
8) Go home...Sleep...Get up at dusk....Head back to the river and keep fishing, drinking, listening to music..Repeat as necesarry...

When the above steps have been completed, and you're tired of fishing...
Filet the catfish, or if you prefer, just gut them and leave the bone in.
Roll the fish in seasoned corn meal and drop in a big deep fryer.
When fish obtain that golden brown look, remove fish from the fish fryer and chow down..

Make sure to invite your closest friends and relatives, buy a little beer, put some music on, and eat fish..

Now that's a fish fry...
