I forget how it came about, but I received this CD in the mail today from
Seth R.
Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but thanks alot Seth.
It was great coming home to find a CD in the mailbox instead of
just bills!

I also got the CD in the mail yesterday! I got a chance to listen to the first 3 songs before heading off to a prior engagement, but what I heard was awesome! I'll be back with a more compreshensive take on the CD once I get a chance to sit and listen to it all. But what I've heard so far is great!

I just got my copy today and have listened to it (thanks again Sethr!). This CD is very well done!! I even like it better on second listenings, which is a good thing! Bernies voice sounds to me quite alot like Americana/rockabilly stylist Phil Alvin of the Blasters. Not that he sounds like an Alvin imitator, it's just that his voice has those same intense qualities.

There's alot of variety on this CD! ....everything from swing to outright "gut bucket" blues. My favorites so far are Otis Rush's It Takes Time, as well as other covers such as Teach Me How To Love You, Farmer John, Georgia Slop, and the original title cut, Love Recession, written by Seth!

Some really fine guitar work there as well from Sethr! Bernie's plays harp with a variety of amp settings and tones. I will always be interested in what you guys are doing and recording... I can tell from first listenings that all the guys in your band have a joint commitment to the blues Seth. great rhythm section!! I'll bet you all are exciting to listen to live in the clubs!...Excellento!!

Wow, thanks for the great review, Johnny Roy. Bernie will love being compared to Phil Alvin. Actually Dave Alvin is his musical hero, but that'll be plenty close enough. (Bernie is director of the New York State Rhythm in Blues Fest and managed to book Dave Alvin at the last fest. A highpoint of Bernie's career, for sure).

hey seth, i'm interested in a copy of your new CD with bernie clarke. i'll buy a copy from you. i also talked to david olson the other day and he told me that he knows you. i also went back into the studio last wednesday and i'm doing some solo acoustic recording with an occasional harp on the rack. i'm recording everything live as if it were a gig - guitar, vocals & harp on the rack - no overdubs.

For those of you who haven't received their CD's yet, I should be mailing the last of them out in the next few days. Mostly it's you guys across the pond who have been left for last. I had to rob a couple liquor stores to get the money for postage.
