Hi John4y, thank you. Yeah, I'm having the greatest time of the year now. After the 10 saddest days of the year there are now the 10 most happy days of the year. Exceptionally great times! Now for music, Bill Gaither and Honey Hill music is very happy for me. Neptown Stomp, they really can make me happy at the last 20 secs of the song (the solo that ends the song) are the highlight for me, Gaither turns his guitar into a drum and Honey burns the piano with his Boogie Woogie. It can't be more happy Prewar Blues than this!

Ironically this is one of his saddest songs:)
Especially when he sang that in Newport, he added a verse that goes something like:

Mayor Crump was one of the most colorful mayors the City Of Memphis had ever seen. I'd call him one of the old time bosses. Here's Mayor Edward Hull Crump.

Thank you for posting it John4y. This photo is like a piece of history as Mr. Crump once used W.C. Handy's band to promote his election campaign. A brilliant choice it seems.

When a friend of mine who plays folky style music was accused of only singing sad songs, he asked if anyone had ever heard me do a happy song. I picked up his guitar, started playing a fast, happy boogie shuffle and improvised a song that went something like "I'm so glad I shot my woman down."

I like "Old Jabo" from Brownie and Sonny's "Preachin' The Blues" album. I used to play it a lot because my aunt and uncle had it in Chicago.
