Tommy's inimitable style still appeals to me. Though I've heard it before, these songs have a way sometimes of sounding better on repeated listening. Thanks for posting.

Always a pleasure to listen to, and thanks Hawkeye for the notes on the tune! I've been experimenting a lot with drop-D tuning, mostly doing Lonnie Johnson-type stuff, but I'll have to mess around with Tommy Johnson

as well!

Tommy Johnson recorded Big Road Blues on Friday, 3 February 1928 in the Memphis Auditorium, Memphis TS with Charlie McCoy on second guitar. I think he only recorded it the once.
