Posts: 1898 Aug 13 06 4:34 PM	The Railroad Museum, with what was once the longest platform in Europe - built by the Russian Czar. The length is due to the fact that his whole entourage had to fit underneath the roof in case it was raining. The semi-open room where the concert was used to be the place where the Czar offered coctails to his guests: half champagne and half vodka. Posts: 1898 Aug 13 06 4:49 PM	Thanks to everybody who was there, everyone who helped set this up & make it happen - most of all, to Blindman's Blues Forum for introducing Son Henry & T.Rogers to Estonia!!! And a very special thanks to Ferci's grandfather in Hungary, who makes his own plum drink there - after our performance, I was still feeling ill, but when I took two sips of that fierce home-made firewater Ferci had with him, I was cured! No sore throat, no cough, no temperature... I'm a new man! Andres Roots

Yes, Russian will probably help you, especially with people my age and older; on the other hand, the younger people speak pretty decent English. My Russian was never great, and having lived in Tartu for 10 years now where there are relatively few Russians, I can't speak all that fluently - but my landlord is Russian, so I must recall a little bit every now and then 10 years ago, my Russian was good enough to pass as a Russian university student at the Hermitage art museum in St. Petersburg, Russia - the admission prices they had for foreigners were 10-20 times higher... Rusty: I wish I could tell you more about the trains; they have a very nice museum there. Don't mean to bring everybody down, but I think one of the trains you see in the photo was used to deport 'rich' Estonians to Siberia in the 1940s; 40 people per car, very little water & food, and no one was left out before Siberia, which is a long way off... There were at least a few corpses in every car by the time they got there. Oh well.
