I'm new here, obviously. I'm a Blues fan from way back, and have played Blues for years as well, primarily as a harp player/singer. I broke up my last Blues band several years ago as I became more and more interested in playing Zydeco. I had played drums for a while in a Cajun band while still leading the Blues band, but ultimately decided to concentrate on building a new Zydeco band. Meanwhile, I have been broadcasting a Blues show weekly on WWUH for almost 12 years now (my playlists are posted here). I have been in the Thursday 6 - 9 AM drivetime slot for over 5 years, 'Serving up a Gumbo of American Roots Music'. When I made the move to the 6 - 9 AM slot, I purposely broadened the spectrum of Blues-rooted material being played; I still see it all as Blues.

Big Zydeco fan here !
I was lucky enough to see Jimmy Thibodeaux in Cognac last weekend, too bad I can't go to the Saulieu Cajun & Zydeco nights next weekend, Jimmy will be there too as well as Zydeco Joe.

My buddy Philippe Sauret introduced me to Zydeco 10 years ago and I've been loving it ever since.

We're now the only two guys to have a regular zydeco column in France, both in a different blues magazine.

So please accept my warmest welcome from Paris, France, River City Slim !

WELCOME, SLIM!!!!

Glad to have you aboard! I love me some Zydeco!!! I sat in with Queen Ida's band many years back, and it was a riot!
There's a great band in Lansing, MI called "Zydecrunch" that really rocks. They've got a washboard player and everything. We were in a blues brawl together a couple of years ago.
My son just started his first radio show, and he is, like his mother, totally at home in front of the mic. His voice is perfect for broadcasting. He's getting a degree in broadcasting arts. His momma is waaayyyy proud of him!

Glad to see you here. This is a great place full of very bluesy folks. You should enjoy it here!
