Now we're talking about a subject near and dear to my gut! As along time homebrewer it is a real problem being forced to drink inferior beer. But musically it is a good problem to have, it means we are playing out alot.

Here is my professional opinion

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Brooklyn Brown Ale
Harpoon IPA
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale
Guiness

Of course these beers are tough to find in most bars, wishful thinking!! Unless you play at an Ale House, as we do once a month.

Beer at outdoor concerts around here are limited by who gets the concessions contract to sell the beer. Usually its Miller or Budwieser. You just have to live with it. But at least its cold.

It never mattered to me when I was drinking because I only drank one kink of beer The Cheapest. Hell all my friends would drink beer that cost 4 or 5 dollars a six. I could buy a case of Shafer for 4.50. One thing I know for sure all beer tastes the same when you are throwing it back up.

beer is right next to my heart alongside the blues i've drank around 8;000 different ones off the top of my head heres some
goose island ipa
fullers summer ale
taylors landlord
orkney red magregor
deuchars ipa

you should be able to get these bottle form in the states

I just found a new brew at trader Joe's. It's called Inebriator and @ 9.1% alcohol content it seems to be right up there with Old Rasputin. My all time fave is Sierra Nevada Stout @ 5.8%. I like these dark beers because I don't blow the blankets off the bed at night. Plus didja know the Egyptians drank a bunch of beer before their demise.........maybe our demise is right around the corner of some shopping mall or big box development instead of some sphinx or pyramid. Ramble on.............

At Cromer Folk Festival (North Sea Coast) it was that cold that people were using their beer to warm up their hands!!

here in Belgium most common are

Jupiler
Maes
Stella

or if you want something "heavier"

Duvel, Trappist (any kind), LaChouffe

also nice are foreigners

Corona, Desperado & Budweiser

too "bad" I am NOT drinking (more than two or three, depending on time) when I drive - and I ALWAYS drive so it's mostly Coke for me...

if you have to think about it, you might as well forget about it

Yep, I would say cold and cheap...I live in a state (Pennsylvania) where microbrews and homebrews are a big thing...I drink Pabst Blue Ribbon beer or Schaefer at home or out, myself, 'cause it's cheap, got the same buzzz as overpriced Budweiser too...I would ask anybody who thinks they can tell the difference after two or three anyway to put their money where there mouth is, and send me a bottle that's that all fired different!

I love beer, but not lite...lite beer is made for people who wanna think they're drinkin' beer, but honestly, there's little difference to me, and I've been drinkin' the stuff for well nigh 40 years....Now if somebody wants to start a chat about Bourbon (I prefer Maker's Mark and Rebel Yell, but hell, I'll drink Ten High and Ancient Age if I can get it on sale)....I also want to thank Blindman for this wonderfully varied forum...

Well here in Japan any cold beer is acceptable, as long as it is cold as the saying goes "Hot Blues and Cold beer"

My vote - COLD.... and cheap... Use to buy Iron City for under $5.00 a case... (they are probably giving it away now... ) and you could count on every can tasting alittle different... I guess it was the Pittsburgh river water..... The good thing about Iron City - it would give you the worst hangover.... sheez

Beer I like the least... Miller Lite - Got sick on it when I was in High School (long time ago...) and it gives me the shakes to see a can of it or worse - smell it.. I turn my head at Miller Lite commercials..... What a cow piss beer.....

Apart from being in one of the most beautiful places on earth, one of the great things about the Telluride Fest is the grand tasting. 150 microbrewers display their wares, and you can sample them free from noon-3:00. You have to exercise a little caution, though. At 10,000 feet a little goes a long way!

My outdoors beer drinking was mostly done at bike rallies,but the blues bands were usually there.A cold bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale takes a bit of beating on those sort of occasions,but you have to be careful with that stuff,they don't call it 'electric soup' for nothing. Most other times it was whatever was available,once you get past the first four or five,who cares what it tastes like?

Any, as long as it's ICE cold. I would have to eliminate some beers though such as Pabst, Old German, Schlitz, most of the domestics.. and definitely lite beers. If you're gonna drink beer, don't bother with that "unleaded stuff"!
Belgium beers are my favs!
