It looks as if Roy himself is selling this new set of classic tunes - the samples are great and it sure sounds like a big 'ol ES-5!

That sounds very tasty! Absolutely the style I love, the 'Children of T-Bone' taking his style and moving it in their own direction. The guitar he's got in the pic looks the same as the one Lowell Fulson used to play, big, 3 pick up job. I want one! I would have to sell my house to finance it i bet.
While we're on the subject of T-Bone influenced guitar players in that Texas/West Coast ( which is it? ) style, who else plays that way? I have heard a little bit of Pee Wee Crayton, but Chuck Berry and Lowell Fulson are the only others i know of so far. And Duke Robillard. . .

He sold his ES-5 to a music store for $2,100 several years ago. I wasn't sure whether to cry or scream at him. He said it just didn't fit the kind of blues he thought he needed to play to get over. But since then, he's been discovered by rockabillies and played some festivals for them and has returned to his vintage approach, doing almost all of his old songs again and sporting a new red L-5 the last time I saw him. 20-20 hindsight...

...and of course, in the jazz world, Charlie Christian, wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell.

In France, we also have our own "T-Bone children" guitarists. I'm thinking Pascal Fouquet from Ze Bluetones and The Hoodoomen, Nico "Teen" Duportal from Rosebud Blue Sauce, and also Christophe Becker from Ze Bluetones too, though he has that little something to his playing that sometimes makes him sound more early rock & roll.

Haven't heard much recent Roy Gaines (I should rectify that), but I have a 45, "Gainesville", on the Deluxe label, that I played to death back in the day.
He also did some nice playing on a Jimmy Rushing session for Vanguard.
