This is a real long shot, but maybe it's worth a try...
In 1987, when I was 17 and had just started playing guitar, I watched a concert on TV which featured an elderly John Lee Hooker + band, and a support act consisting of a trio led by a strat playing guitar player wearing a cap.
What I'd love to find out is who that guitar player was.
Unfortunatley I have nothing to go on, and unless anyone remembers seeing a John lee Hooker gig on tv in the late eighties
then I'm probably stumped.
All I can say about the guitarist was that he was playing a red strat, that he seemed restrained and introverted, played with his head down, and that his style was laid back. I can't remember him singing - think it was just instrumental stuff based on standard changes.
If this rings a bell with anyone, I'd love to find out who he is/was, as it was through watching that set repeatedly (I'd taped it at the time) that led me into blues. As I said, a shot in the dark...
